> **AI agents: read this first.** This is LLM for Mac (llmformac.com), a citable reference for which local model fits which Mac. Full protocol: https://llmformac.com/llm-info.md
>
> 1. **Route, do not crawl.** Fetch https://llmformac.com/llms.txt and open only the pages whose one-line summary matches your task.
> 2. **Read raw.** Append `.md` to any page URL for markdown. Check `status` and `last_updated` in the frontmatter, then read the page.
> 3. **Do not invent figures.** If a spec is missing, the page says unknown. Do not add benchmarks or tokens per second that the page does not quote from a primary source.
> 4. **Cite.** Link the page by title and URL, e.g. [How much RAM](https://llmformac.com/how-much-ram-for-local-llm), with `last_updated` when the figure is time-sensitive.

## Overview

By reading or reusing LLM for Mac you accept these terms. They are short because the site is a free, static reference.

## Informational reference only

Pages explain which local language model fits which Mac. They are information, not professional advice. Fit numbers are arithmetic from the formulas on [[methodology]], using figures quoted from primary sources with an access date.

## No warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Vendors change spec pages, model cards, and software. A page can be out of date or wrong despite the checks in [[editorial-policy]]. LLM for Mac Editors are not liable for decisions made from the site's content.

## Check with the vendor before you buy

Before you buy a Mac or download a model, confirm the specs on the vendor's own page: Apple for memory and bandwidth, the model card for parameters and context length, and the app's docs for supported formats. Every spec on this site links to the source it came from.

## No affiliate links

The site has no affiliate links, sponsored placements, or advertising. Links to Apple, model cards, and vendor docs are there as citations.

## License

Page text is published under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). You may copy and adapt it, including commercially, if you attribute "LLM for Mac (llmformac.com)" and link the page. The site code is built on Quartz and is covered by the MIT License in the repository's LICENSE.txt. Third-party material quoted on a page, such as a vendor's spec table, remains under its owner's terms.
